Brazilian Soup Operas
Brazilians have been watching soup operas at night on TV since the 1960's. This type of entertainment is extremely popular in Brazil. For instance, people usually comment about them as much as soccer or policy. Although the high popularity, soup operas constantly show mistakes in its screenplay. Nevertheless, it's one more reason for people go on to watch them. The final episode of Globo's soup opera Avenida Brasil reached the higher audience this year on TV last Friday, more than the Libertadores Cup Final with Corinthians against Boca Juniors in July. Up until then, the game had been the higher audience. I want to know : do you like to watch or comment about soup operas ? Do you believe these programs are a good type of entertainment ?

I don't like both watch or comment soap operas haha. I guess this type of tv program is so boring, foreeseable and repetitious. All kind of soup opera have the same story: a couple who cant be together because their love is prohibited and it bothers me a lot!
ResponderExcluirHAHA... I agree with Dr. G. over there! It's always a mediocre Shakespearian mambo jambo... changethe characters, the actors in a one-size-fits-all plot.
ResponderExcluirHow many times have we seen this "Who killed Odeth Roitman" cliffhang?
In fact, I prefer putting on a nice movie or have a chat with my family over dinner!
Good going!
I think sopa operas have their place on TV as a entertainment program. Sometimes a watch them with my wife while we are doing something else, beacause you don't need to pay attention to understand what are happening. But I think people should try other types of entertainment like books, magazines and movies, and they need to know that soap operas don't have a compromise with the reality. Furthermore, parents need to control what their children are watching and what kind of values they are assimilating.
ResponderExcluirRight on, Paul!
ResponderExcluirIt's wrong to censor the media, but we must watch over what our children are seeing on TV.
Brainless entertainment!
