Agony in colors

Jackson Pollock, Number 1, 1950.

The expressionist artist has been trying to shock the viewers since the beginning of 20™ century. This modernist movement has a typical trait whit the purpose of distorting subjective perspective radically. In order to provoke feelings and ideas. It’s an emotional art and shows the artist’s agony though vibrant colors. Does this kind of art provoke any felling on you?

Edvard MunchSkrik, 1893.

Friends

Television is a phenomenoum since 60's. This stuff can take our attention and make we spent a lot of hours watching it without fellling the time pass. Nowadays, everybody has a TV at home and watch it everyday. However, some programs can entertain many kinds of generation. That is what happened with the sitcom "Friends". This sitcom is about 6 friends (Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Chandler, Joey and Ross) and what happen in their lifes, since the most common thing (for instance, met your friends in a Cafe and talk with them about how was your day) until being hired by a big Soup Opera (when Joey appeared in "Days of Our Lives"). This sitcom was so successful that many people still watch this program, even though it has finished for 10 years. Furthermore, people with all ages watch this and they have good time. I'm a particularly Friends fan, because I guess this sitcom can exactly dovetail in my life. What they represent in their episods are what happen in many people's life and that is the reason why it's so funny, because you can see you in their shoes! Therefore, I want to know you guys: Why have Friends made too much success?

Brazilian Soup Operas

Brazilians have been watching soup operas at night on TV since the 1960's. This type of entertainment is extremely popular in Brazil. For instance, people usually comment about them as much as soccer or policy. Although the high popularity, soup operas constantly show mistakes in its screenplay. Nevertheless, it's one more reason for people go on to watch them. The final episode of Globo's soup opera Avenida Brasil reached the higher audience this year on TV last Friday, more than the Libertadores Cup Final with Corinthians against Boca Juniors in July. Up until then, the game had been the higher audience. I want to know : do you like to watch or comment about soup operas ? Do you believe these programs are a good type of entertainment ?

The virtual market

The virtual market (e-commerce i s how it’s called) is growing every day, on the other hand the frauds on this have grown  together. The billionaire e-commerce has it danger, it’s almost impossible to you have never seen one ad offering the latest cell phone for a ridiculous price or the miraculous ways to lose weight, these are most common ways to fool people and steal their information. So how can we know which ad is not a fake? Basically, there are some tips that you can follow. One of them, is that you always check for other customers commentary and check if the web site is famous, never buy anything on a unknown website, even if is the lowest price. There are some websites that you can search for complaints or problems about any company, for example the ReclameAqui. And now I ask you if you ever bought something on the internet? How did you know that it wasn't fake ?

What are parents doing?

I’m a military, a Captain of the Army, and every year my job is to turn a lot of young guys into soldiers. So, I have to deal with many kinds of personalities, social problems, guys with family problems or without a family, people with different school levels and all sort of habits. Additionally, some of them aren’t voluntary to stay in the army. But, over the last years I’ve noticed  that it’s more and more difficult to find good recruits, because it seems that a considerable part of the people born in nineties don’t respect anything, don’t like to study or work and don’t know how to deal with their personal problems. Some guys don’t do exercises and look vary lazy.
Coincidentally, last week I was surfing on a website about education and found an article about teen depression, the changes in the society along the last decades and how they are influencing the young people behavior. For instance, an analyst called Rinaldo Voltini consider that the children education suffered the impact of the Marxist thinking and the criticism of the authoritarianism. Simultaneously, the protections of children and their rights become a important subject of the worldwide politic. As a result of those changes and the increase of the tow-income family, occurs a decrease of the reproachful attitude of the parents in relation on their children. In fact, many parents trying to deal with the guilty for their absent, became too permissive and give presents to their children without an specific reason.
According the article, another quality of the western civilization that influence in the teen behavior today is the fact of the some parents try to stay young longer and naturally they search an artificial approaching to their children. Nevertheless, this effort to establish this level of friendship sometimes is saw by children a loss of reference, not freedom exactly.
What do you think? Do you have any opinion about that?

Keeping a journal exercise

September 17th

This day I was pretty relaxed, because the day before i went out with my friends and i t was very nice. I still need to improve the verb tenses, for me it's a little dificult to know in a conversation when we use past perfect, or present perfect. In a writing it's easier because you have more time to think. And the new vocabulary that I have learned is blackmail that is when you know a secret of someone and ask favors in exchange for not telling the secret.

September 19th

This day I was not so good because of my rinithus, but i'm used to it already. My suggestions of study are the past perfect and present perfect, i think these are the most difficult topics in english. The new vocabulary that I've learned was eavesdropper that means a person who listen accidentaly a conversation.

September 24th

This day I was pretty happy, because was the day I discovered that I passed on the vestibular test. I don't have any suggestion of sites, instead, i have a suggestion of a software very good, it's name is Rosetta Stone, the only disadvantage is that its not free. The new vocabulary that I've learned is toddler, that means a child of 2 to 4 years old.

A Famous Mangaká

Rumiko Takahashi is a famous and rich writer of Japan who started her career in 1978. She's 54 and is known by the successful mangás she wrote, because of that she is considered a mangaká. Two of the most famous are Rama 1/2 and Inuyasha.
I discovered Mrs.Takahashi by reading Inuyasha and now I have the colection of this mangás almost complete, it's composed by 112 volumes. No other mangaká has already wrote a story so long like this one.
