I’m a military, a Captain of the
Army, and every year my job is to turn a lot of young guys into soldiers. So, I
have to deal with many kinds of personalities, social problems, guys with
family problems or without a family, people with different school levels and
all sort of habits. Additionally, some of them aren’t voluntary to stay in the
army. But, over the last years I’ve noticed that it’s more and more difficult to find good
recruits, because it seems that a considerable part of the people born in nineties don’t
respect anything, don’t like to study or work and don’t know how to deal with
their personal problems. Some guys don’t do exercises and look vary lazy.
Coincidentally, last week I was surfing
on a website about education and found an article about teen depression, the
changes in the society along the last decades and how they are influencing the
young people behavior. For instance, an analyst called Rinaldo Voltini consider
that the children education suffered the impact of the Marxist thinking and the
criticism of the authoritarianism. Simultaneously, the protections of children
and their rights become a important subject of the worldwide politic. As a
result of those changes and the increase of the tow-income family, occurs a
decrease of the reproachful attitude of the parents in relation on their
children. In fact, many parents trying to deal with the guilty for their
absent, became too permissive and give presents to their children without an specific
reason.
According the article, another quality of the
western civilization that influence in the teen behavior today is the fact of
the some parents try to stay young longer and naturally they search an
artificial approaching to their children. Nevertheless, this effort to establish
this level of friendship sometimes is saw by children a loss of reference, not
freedom exactly.
What do
you think? Do you have any opinion about that?
Hey, Cap!
ResponderExcluirI totally agree with you that children have lost respect. In the past, I wouldn't dare asnwering my parents, especially my father, back. My mom I would eventually.
However, even my daughter has got some nerve! Although I can see that personality plays its part, setting limits and teachning them what is and how accept a loss may be a great way to start the maturing process.
Great post!
I'm a little biased to talk about this as I'm part of the new generation, but I think that in the past, the respect was more fear than respect itself. Nowadays there are some parents that don't want for their kids this felling of fear, but they don't know how to teach they respect and the kid grows without limits. Anyway, is a great post.
ResponderExcluirHi Mr Paulo Gabriel !
ResponderExcluirNowadays parents do not teach enough their kids about responsibility. Parents must leave them learn about real life instead of overmuch protect them.
I enjoyed this topic !
Hey, ride partner!
ResponderExcluirIt is a very important topic to discuss. Nowadays, parents give everything child wants and dont give limits and restrictions. I think that is the big problem. Let's take all the teenagers to spend a time with you in army! What do you think? haha
Grat Post.
cya
HAHAH.... Spending some military time would be great, but as has himself said once before, ewe could end up having lazy soldiers!
ResponderExcluirCan you imagine that!?
Cap. Paul Gabriel: "We recruit you to go to Paraguay border to fight smuggling and drug dealing"
Soldier: Really, me? I can't, I'm so scaried... send someone else."
This can really happen!!
